TetraCam Portable Digital Microscope
High Resolution With A Wide Magnification Range

1 -- 40x magnification
1.3 megapixel camera (optional 2.0 or 3.1 megapixel camera)
Completely PC powered
Quick assembly
Fits easily into a briefcase with your laptop computer

The TetraCam is a portable digital video microscope and macro imaging system. It’s quick to setup and easy to use.  The 1 — 40x magnification system will display objects as large as a page of paper or let you zoom in to view objects as small as the hairs on an insect.  The 1.3 megapixel USB 2.0 camera has four times the resolution of a conventional video camera and higher resolution cameras (up to 3.1 megapixels) are available as an option.

The TetraCam provides a long 6+ inch working distance, with plenty of room to position your delicate samples without fear of damaging them. The stand allows adjustment of camera height and angle, while the camera’s quick-release mount provides for hand-held use.  The tetraCAM disassembles quickly and fits into your laptop case or a small travel bag.

The TetraCam includes a range of lighting systems.  Use the halogen lamp for large area imaging in the laboratory.  An optional incandescent lamp provides visible and infrared illumination for spectral comparison of inks and papers in document examination.  Portable LED lights adds brightness at high magnifications and also provides oblique illumination to look at surface features such as paper fibers and signature indentation.

The TetraCam meets the needs of mobile professionals requiring a high resolution digital microscope for inspection and documentation.

The TetraCam also includes Video ToolBox imaging software.  Video ToolBox offers a resizeable window (up to full screen for presentations) and a simple interface with access to advanced annotation and measurement functions.  The key feature of Video ToolBox is it allows users to work directly with the live image. Most other video imaging programs require the users to capture an image before they can add annotations or make measurements. This added step slow down the user and makes them less efficient. With Video ToolBox everything happens on the live image – making observation faster and more efficient. Labels, markers, freehand notes, time stamps and measurements are all seen right on the live image. Hit the capture button and the user gets a permanent record for archiving. Anything that is seen on the screen can also be recorded as a movie so the users can document the activities they perform or make training movies for other users.

In addition, Video ToolBox supports plug-ins which allow for additional features to be added later. Plug-ins include an automatic object counting and measurement tool, and FocusLock – our focus enhancement technology to produce focused images of objects that are deeper than the depth of focus of the video imaging system.

Video ToolBox can also work with GPS receivers to automatically tag images with the precise location and time in which they were captured.  An excellent option when on-site documentation is critical.
